Environmental Footprint

There is major concern over the ever increasing impact of man-made greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on the global climate system. This has resulted in the world community addressing this serious environmental problem through diplomatic negotiation and accelerated technology development.

One of the first significant steps was taken in 1997 when the Kyoto Protocol set emission limits in most industrial countries for the six major GHGs during the period 2008-2012. The Protocol established a series of 'Flexibility Mechanisms' to allow industries and countries to have lower cost options for reducing emissions, while also promoting sustainable development in both developing and industrial countries.

Because of this growing pressure, companies increasingly need to know what their environmental impact or footprint is on the world in terms of GHG production and how to reduce it.

But it's not just GHGs that need assessment, industries generate many other problems that have significant environmental impact. For example the environmental impact that the agricultural industry can produce includes polluted run-off, waste water, habitat loss, organic waste and air emissions. All these should be assessed for their environmental risk.

Track Record has developed a comprehensive range of methodologies for assessing the impact of organisations on their environment which then enables them to:
  · quantify their impact
  · establish individual outlet benchmarks
  · develop mitigation strategies
  · support national reduced emissions targets
  · monitor continual improvement and demonstrate 'additionality'
  · look to create Certifiable Emission Reductions which can be traced
  · prepare published Environmental Risk Assessment policies

Track Record has concentrated on developing Environmental Risk Assessment programmes that are cost-effective, secure, easily accessible for those with appropriate security access and simple-to-use.

Companies using Track Records service will quickly benefit from assessing its environmental footprint and then shrinking it to a commercial and practical level by cutting out needless waste.
